Frequently Asked Questions

At Handyman Richard LLC, we cover a broad range of home repair and improvement tasks. We do plumbing repairs, electrical fixes, mounting TVs, caulking and sealing corners, painting, drywall work, furniture assembly, mirror and picture hanging, installing blinds and shades, ceiling fan and light fixture work, and more. No job is too small - we take care of the little things so your home stays in good shape.

Yes. We carry general liability insurance, and we’re happy to provide proof if you want it. We want you to feel safe and comfortable inviting us into your home, knowing that you’re protected in case anything unexpected happens.

We have been in business since 2006, helping homeowners in Brooklyn and nearby neighborhoods. Over the years, we have done thousands of jobs, and we know the local area, building styles, and common repair issues very well.

You can call our phone number (718-971-3695), send us a message through our website, or email us. We will ask a few questions about what you need, then set up a time that works for you. We aim to be flexible because many clients prefer evenings or weekends and once scheduled, our technician arrives ready to inspect and work.

No, we don’t. We come to your home, look at the work needed, talk to you about what you want done, and then offer a price. You’ll know ahead of time what the labor and materials will cost. No hidden fees or surprise add-ons.

We look at the scope of work: how much time it will take, what materials are needed, and how complicated the job is. For example, swapping a faucet is quicker and simpler than rewiring part of a room. We break things down in the estimate so you see labor and parts separately. We try to keep things fair and transparent.

Our base is in Brooklyn, New York, with an address at 5737 Kings Hwy, Brooklyn, NY 11203. We serve Brooklyn and nearby communities. If you are unsure whether we cover your address, just reach out and we will tell you right away.

Yes. If something urgent comes up like water leaks, electrical failures, broken fixtures, you can call us immediately. Depending on our schedule, we’ll try to come the same day. If at all it is not possible for us, we will schedule the first available slot for you. Safety matters the most for us so we always prioritize urgent repairs when possible.

We take care of multiple tasks like repairing damaged floors, patching, prepping walls and finishing surfaces. Our major focus always remains on general repair, painting and installations but if you need partial flooring work or fixing damaged boards, we will take a look and see what can be done.

If you prefer low-odor paint, green materials, or safer finishes, just tell us. We will use materials and techniques where possible that are better for your home environment. It adds a little to planning, but many homeowners appreciate that choice.

It depends. Small jobs (like mounting a TV, changing a fixture, patching drywall) can often be done in a few hours. Bigger ones (painting a full room, handling multiple repairs) may take a day or more. Before we start, we give you an estimated timeline, and we try hard to stick to it.

Yes. We stand by our craftsmanship. If after we finish something doesn’t look right or fails, let us know and we will come back and fix it. We want you to be fully satisfied and not stuck with half-finished work.

We do both. Inside, we handle all sorts of repairs, painting, installations, and maintenance. Outside, we can do caulking, sealing, mounting, and minor repairs. Some jobs depend on weather, so for exteriors we plan accordingly.

We believe in honesty, reliability, and doing things right. We show up on time, bring the tools needed, explain clearly what we’re doing, and clean up after ourselves. Many of our clients keep calling us for years because they trust we’ll do the job well. We also back our “Done Right Promise” , doing it right the first time or fixing it until it is.
